There I stood, in the middle of the shopping centre feeling like I was going to starve.
I mean really starve.
A client had just cancelled an appointment the next day.
It filled me with fear.
My mind raced so quickly the first thought I could latch onto was “will I have enough to retire?”
I was 30 and my husband worked overseas earning good money. We had money in the bank.
There was no need to worry about starving or retirement.
But there I was. Frozen in front of the Post Office fearing I would go hungry.
None of it made sense.
From that day on fears around money were triggered in me in an instant.
Client rescheduling, bills arriving, unexpected business expenses turned me into a ball of fear.
I tried everything. I worked with coaches.
I had all manner of healing sessions with healers from around the world.
I read every book I could get my hands on, and applied it.
I went on weekend retreats.
I spent thousands of dollars and invested hours of time.
Nothing seemed to get to the place of finding out what this was and clearing it.
Money blocks were cleared but that feeling of starving just didn’t go away. No matter what I did, I couldn’t escape it.
After two years of endless healing, searching and probing I came to the conclusion that this money block I could feel was mine for good.
I was cursed with it.
I just could not shake the feeling that maybe I had to accept that this was it, I was stuck with it forever.
It was real. I could feel it yet I couldn’t identify it.
My business bank balance reflected this.
Time moved on.
I relocated my business and took some time off to be mum.
I forgot about the block for a few years.
Just as I was thinking about heading back to work I discovered a way to clear ancestral lineage.
That day, as I tuned in to clear my father’s mother’s side, there it was again. It flooded my body and I remembered very clearly. It hadn’t gone anywhere. It was still there.
The exact same feeling of starvation was sitting there in Granny’s family lineage.
As I felt into it, I actually understand it, at the core level. All those years of searching for an answer and it was right here in my family line.
But for them, it was real.
The Taylor side of my family was so poor.
I knew my grandmother married an Australian soldier to come to Australia for a better life for her and her future children but I didn’t understand it.
They were so poor, dirt poor, the lowest class in England.
And going back through the generations they literally had to figure out which children would eat that day.
Each day was consumed with survival, with ensuring there was enough food and that there would actually be a tomorrow for them.
So imagine my surprise when this money block didn’t actually really have anything to do with money at all.
Here I had been, running around chasing this money block, for over 3 years, only to discover it actually hadn’t had anything to do with money at all.
You see, it was just showing up as money in my life but it had nothing to do with money.
It was really about surviving.
I had been barking up the wrong tree all along.
No wonder I couldn’t shake this feeling.
And I see so many women doing the same thing.
Money blocks are a hot topic, and rightly so. Women are only just stepping into embodying money and many women in our lineage have never really understood or been empowered around money. So I’m not saying all money blocks are not about money. Some most definitely are.
And there are some that also aren’t.
I can tell you, the money blocks women have today, often have nothing to do with money at all. I’ve seen this pattern play out in hundreds of ancestral readings.
And I can tell you how frustrating it is to chase after a block that isn’t really there.
Money today is held very differently to money in the past, especially for women.
Remember my money block I couldn’t clear was actually about surviving, not money.
Now survival today looks very different to survival for our ancestors.
What happens with belief systems is they attach to the vibration, not the tool used in the experience.
Let me explain. If you talk about famines, you would expect to see some belief systems around food, eating and health to have come through, right? Makes sense. Famine is about food.
Yet famine has a very strong impact on our connection to money.
You see, back when there were famines, food was the currency of exchange.
I would exchange my chicken for your bag of grain.
Money wasn’t such a big deal.
The belief systems around lack, fear and hoarding attach the vibration or currency, not the tool (food) and continue forward down the line.
So famine has just as much an impact on our money belief systems as it does food.
Famine isn’t the only area. Think of experiences where exchanges have taken place that create energetic exchanges.
The time when women were killed for being healers. Big impact on money beliefs that have come down the line.
Organized religion is highly influential on money beliefs.
Convicts or slave ancestry causes us to contract the vibration of money.
If your lineage was abundant in children but not money, then beliefs about needing lots and hoarding of money plays out.
So next time you have a block that looks and feels like a money block.
One you just can’t shake.
One where you work with coaches.
Have had all manner of healing sessions with healers from around the world.
Read every book you can get your hands on, and applied it.
Go on weekend retreats.
Invest thousands of dollars and invested hours of time.
Consider that maybe, this money block has nothing to do with money.
And nothing to do with you.
I could just be coming through your bloodline.
